Hi! I'm Mr. Shepard, the Fall River Middle School math teacher. I completed my Master of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse (UWL) in Sport Administration and my Bachelor of Science Degree, also from UWL, in Physical Education. I've also completed the State of Wisconsin K-9 licensure program through CESA 4 which allows me to teach any of the core subjects at the aforementioned grade levels.

I'm an advocate of taking care of one's mental health and am subsequently certified in Mental Health First Aid.

I've always had a fascination with numbers, dating back to collecting sports cards and looking at all the statistics on the back of each one. My favorite players to collect were Michael Jordan, Ken Griffey Jr., Bo Jackson and Greg Maddux. I love sharing my passion for math with my students and finding ways to connect with them so they can unlock their learning potential.

I am a varsity boys and girls assistant track coach specializing in the shot put and discus, here at Fall River High School.  I've coached basketball since 2000 and am the head girls high school basketball coach at Wayland Academy. I'm also an assistant high school football coach at Wayland responsible for the offensive line and assisting with the offensive strategies and game planning.

Prior to Fall River, I worked at the University of Notre Dame, Butler University, Winona State University and MATC

In 2015, I was recipient of the Wisconsin Parks and Recreation Association (WPRA) Community Partnership Award for an elementary school playground build collaboration between my Sports Facilities Operations & Management class and Black Hawk Middle School in Madison. In 2006, I was recipient of Butler University's prestigious Top Dawg award, given annually to an individual recognized for exemplary service to the university and greater Indianapolis community.

I've served as Vice President of the Indiana Recreational Sports Association (IRSA), I'm a published author and I have led two original and Institutional Review Board (IRB) research projects focused on eating disorders and overtraining in college aged student-athletes and recreational-athletes (research one, research two).I also served as chair of the Columbus Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and led the Washington Park revitalization project.

In my spare time I love going on adventures with my family, hiking, fishing, listening to music, reading, exercising, doing almost anything outdoors and attending sporting events and concerts.
